Privacy Policy

Costumes for macOS is made by Great Work LLC. The short version: your costumes, cues and settings stay on your Mac, the app has no analytics, and we only see what Stripe gives us when you buy.

The app

Stays on your Mac

• Your costumes and cues are saved in files in your user Library on your Mac. They are not uploaded anywhere.
• Location is only used on your Mac, for sunrise and sunset times and for location cues. It is never sent to us.
• Calendar, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, display and app triggers are read on your Mac to decide when a cue should run. None of it leaves your Mac.
• If you turn on "Run cues when Costumes is closed", a small helper that ships inside Costumes runs in the background as a login item. It works entirely on your Mac and can be turned off in Settings or in System Settings, General, Login Items.
• There is no account, no iCloud sync, and no analytics or crash reporting in the app.

Update checks

Costumes checks for updates with Sparkle. It downloads https://costumesformac.com/appcast.xml, and that request includes the app's version and your macOS version, plus your IP address as with any web request. It checks about once a day, and when you choose Check for Updates. We use this only to offer updates.

Buying Costumes

Payment is handled by Stripe. We receive your name, email address and country from Stripe; we never see your card number. We use your email only to send your receipt and to let you download Costumes again at /get-the-app/recover. We don't send marketing email and don't sell or share your information.

When you download, the site records the purchase id, time and IP address of the download, to spot abuse of download links.

This website

costumesformac.com has no analytics, no ad pixels and no tracking cookies. Our server keeps standard request logs (IP address, page, time) for security and troubleshooting. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when you visit.

Your choices

To get a copy of, or delete, the purchase information we hold, email hello@greatwork.company. To remove everything Costumes stored on your Mac, quit it, delete the app, and delete the Costumes folder in ~/Library/Application Support.
